What do stylish celebs Beyoncé, Jennifer Lawrence, Bella Hadid, Zoe Kravitz, Rihanna, Kylie Jenner and Scarlett Johansson have in common? They all sport multiple piercings and nail the curated ear trend.
Here's your guide to getting a curated ear
Step 1, The Base Layer - Huggies & Stud Earrings
Imaging the base layer of your curated ear like your favourite basics in your wardrobe. These earrings are the hard working pieces in your jewellery box, that you wear day in day out. Huggies, in the lobe, or helix combined with simple dainty studs. These may be the earrings you leave in for longer, while you switch out the focal point earrings.
Should I match my earrings?
This is down to your style preference. A mismatched ear, adds impact and wow factor. To add balance, keep the larger pieces lower down on the ear, and taper upwards with smaller earrings
Can I wear huggies in my helix piercing?
Yes we recommend it!
Huggies and stud earrings don't have to be boring and safe, find styles that make you happy.
Step 2, The Focal Point - Charm hoops & more hoops
This focal point earring is often the first piercing on the lobe. Go large with a hoop or charm hoop, and use this piercing to make a statement. This could be a colour pop, a statement shape, or a larger hoop. Don't be afraid to mismatch, have fun with this piece, as it helps frame your look.
Can I mismatch the colours of my earrings to?
We'd recommend using one base metal colour for your curated ear. Then you can use colour in the stones settings and designs. The metal colour will pull the look together
A charm hoop, adds personality to a curated ear, and a minimalist hoop gives you scope to build more interest and add drama with ear cuffs..
Step 3, Cuff it Up!
Ear Cuffs. No piercings required
Ear cuffs are awesome. No painful piercings required. Stack our standard size cuffs mid lobe, then use our smaller cuffs on the upper ear, or even go wild with a cartilage bar cuff - to really make a statement.
Does the size of my ears matter?
It can, yes. If you have tiny ears you will have less space for multiple piercings. If you have larger lobes, you may find the smallest huggies a tight fit. However earrings come in may shapes and sizes, just like ears - so you can always find the perfect fit for you.
With each curated ear, you must first look at your own ears and plan which styles will suit you, and your ears.
A curated ear is THE fiercest jewellery trend.
The fastest (and easiest way) to update your look is by changing your jewellery, and the way you style it.

Choosing your Piercings
Choosing which piercing you want can be difficult, there are so many to choose from, with varying pain levels, healing times and aftercare requirements. Make sure you research you curated ear thoroughly before you commit. We suggest starting with 1-3 simple lobe piercings in one ear (low pain) and a helix (upper ear - slightly more pain) to get you started. Or find a very able piercing expert to advise you.
If you don't want more piercings - ear cuffs are a great, piercing free way to stack your ears. Go wild.
